This almost confirms that we are unlikely to see a Parhelia 2 for a VERY! long time

This is just a re-hash of VigilAnt's stuff as far as I can see. With a little bit of opinion added on. Nothing we didn't already (not) know.

Bah I forwarded Anton the interesting forum URLs, but he failed to mention the most importaint issue - the banding bugs. Guess I will try with some other hardware news site, maybe beyond3d.

I'm still not sure what this banding issue is. Never seen it. Any screenshots or anything around?

              Wah! Wah!

In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

You can't take screen shots of artifacts from the analog outputs.

But if you look back a week or so someone (can't remember your name, sorry) made a demo that showed us non-parhelia owners what it looks like (sort of). Take a look at that.

If you use 2 monitors, use them in independant mode (not feature or clone), play a 3d game in the first and put a white wallpaper on the one not use for playing. You'll see it for sure

P.S. you don't need a white background to see it but its easier

What makes it really noticable for me is if you run a DirectX game in windowed mode.

I've only seen it happen to me when I play BF1942 and I look at the sky with the cockpit turned off. Otherwise don't I dont notice anything.

very noticeable in rtcw in the forest map when you hit 'n' to view mission objectives.
                            extremely annoying

Easiest way for me to spot it is to run a 3D shooter and aim at something bright. Like, for example, getting flashed in Counter-Strike. That's a sure way to see it.
