  • MediaStudioPro .. File Size limitation

    I'm running into a problem thats really pissing me off !

    2Gb file size limitation.

    My system is an Asus CuBx-E (getting old, but reliable) at 1ghz with 786mb RAM & G550 graphics.

    Now the bit I know your all waiting to pounce on ...................

    O/s is Win2KPro !! O/s drive is Ntfs

    Capture drive is a 120Gb IBM deskstar formatted as NTFS
    So is Render drive.

    Camera is Sony Vx9000e & Ms4.

    I can capture endlessly (using sony & firewire) no problems but when I add it all together in Msp with footage from Ms4 (under 2gb) & render it the Ba*tard thing craps out bang on 2gb !!

    Msp is v6

    Capture card is AvCardPro by Electronic-design

    Sony camera does NOT have firewire IN enabled.

    Why the hell is it doing this ?? I must be doing something wrong as everywhere I read, No-one (who is running w2k under NTFS) gets this problem.

    Help greatly apped !

    What export format are you using? If DV is it type1 or type2? DV Type2 or Video for Windows codecs are often limited to 2 gigs. So can be exports from an editing device that uses Video for Windows drivers.

    You might also want to check the c:\winnt\ulead32.ini file for an entry disabling OpenDML support, which would limit file sizes to 2 gigs. It would look like this;

    [HardwareAcc]
    NotSaveOpenDML=1

    Changing the value to 0 would allow OpenDML (large files) but this may be incompatable with Video for Windows editing device drivers & their codecs.

        Ok... I looked at the .ini file that you said but it didn't have anything to do with openDML.
