A teacher friend of mine was asking me which video card would be best suited to his budget to run Autodesk Inventor 6. The minimum requirements call for a "workstation class opengl video card". Since he is in a small school his computer budget is quite limited.
Some system specs are:
ECS Socket A SIS730 chipset based mobo. (with empty AGP slot)
Duron 700
512MB SDRAM
21" Gateway monitor
Windows98
yada, yada, yada
I have zero experience running such apps and was wondering if there is anything out there that could do some of the necessary basic 3D rendering for under $300US ? He doesn't need 60fps, but >1fps would be useful
Could a G400 or G550 have enough OpenGL support to deal with this??
Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
