To export this way you just select the "Ulead Video Server" filetype in Create/Video File;
Next you click the Options button to set up the VideoServer;
(don't worry, most times the defaults are just fine), close the Options then type any old name in the export dialog and click OK.
The Ulead Video Server window now appears;
along with the MSPro rending window and progress indicator.
From here you just open the encoder, load the IPCServer.avi proxy file, set up the rendering options and export file name & start the encoder (Start in TMPGEnc).
Once the external encoder has finished you just click STOP to close VideoServer and MSPro returns to editing mode.
Like falling off a log once you've done it a couple of times.

I carry a gun because I can't throw a rock 1,250 fps
So this basically takes the uncompressed rendered stream and outputs it to an outboard compressor, right?

It'll work with just about anything that can load an *.avi. So far I've tested it with TMPGEnc Plus, MainConcept standalone and WindowsMedia Encoder. More coming as soon as I can get them installed.
Later tonight I'm going to try using it in VideoStudio 6 as well. Don't see any reason for it not to work at this point.
I think Edwin deserves something better than just the Nobel Prize; we need to set him up with Lizzie
IMO they degraded the Nobel Prizes prestiege value when they gave it to Jimmy Carter, aka: the former President who talked Clinton into selling North Korea those nuclear reactors

I'll second that sentiment.

Maybe they should have given it jointly to Bush and Sharon on the grounds that the more people you kill, injure and degrade the greater the effort required to make peace settlements.
Thanks for the enquiry, FD. I now have +/- full movement of the hand, thanks to intense physio and willpower, but it is still weak and slow. I can do most things without too great problems, although writing is VERY difficult, still (especially signing cheques and credit card vouchers ). The daft thing is I can use chopsticks perfectly well! My 2.5 week holiday to the Far East worked wonders.
