  • Whoa...

Looks like ATI is getting ready to beat Nvidia to the punch for a second time...www.rage3d.com/#1034776458....

Nice...A 9700 card potentially outfitted with up to 550 mhz DDRII memory, wich would give the card ~35 gig/sec of bandwith to play with...
    note to self...

Assumption is the mother of all f***ups....

    Primary system :
P4 2.8 ghz,1 gig DDR pc 2700(kingston),Radeon 9700(stock clock),audigy platinum and scsi all the way...

    Expensive
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

and since ATI """pioneered""" another memory technology outside of DDR2, i can't decide what to make of it... or even if it will ever hit market...

Probably the usual 400$ entry fee...Still expensive though, but damn, with bandwith like that it,would probably be a good 50~75% faster in AA and Aniso, even compared to a 9700 pro, which is anything but a slouch in that department....

Kinda makes you wonder what cards will be able to pull off in 2 year's time if the current trend of essentially doubling performance every 12 months continues....Yikes.

Heard about that as well, but i believe that GDDR3 will only show up late next year, perhaps with the R400 chip, and essentially that memory is still largely based on DDR II anyhow...
