  • question - NOT political!

I just bought a comprssor and spray gun (and spot blaster) for my old car I am restoring....

can I use it for painting emulsion, or do I need a different gun?

Stupid question, i am sure, but I have never seen one being used for it.... I have a couple of rooms in my new house that are a bit funky colour wise - and I am dumping the carpet (there is a solid mahogany floor under it! ) I can mask off the frames and such...

I have used it for painting oil paints (fencing and such...)

    Thanks

Just park it in a dodgy area of town and it will get painted for you.

...think you need a different nozzle and an emulsion that won't stop it up, if that exsists..
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
        Who cares?

Emusions (which can be either water based liquid suspensions or latex particle) are best applied using a HVLP (high volume/low pressure) rig. Some require using a 10-20% dilution, but most don't.

            Thanks Dr M

I will give it a whirl.... There are lots of guages on this thing, I havent tried out many settings before...

The Latex paints (eggshell/vnly (SP) silk ) paints where what I was after, but, i reckon that getting something on these walls will be a priority!

I hust didnt want to waste the gun - its a semi pro cellulose job, I will get a bigger nozel for it, as its only a .16 (sounds like Ill need a .28 or something)

            Regards
