  • Nifty little gadget from Logitech.

Now if it only came with handwriting recognition software, or Office XP regcognition integration.

        It needs special paper

I once read about a pen like this, only it did not use a camera, but movement sensors (gyroscopes?), and I think it transferred its data on the fly to the PC.

The logi pen is too big, and I don't like caps.

                No Dogbert,
while this IS old news, it has nothing to do with the technology of iPen.

The Logitech pen in question is just one realization of the swedish "anoto" tech. The paper is speceial, but only in the sense that it has hardly visible dots oll over it, in a pattern unique to every sheet of paper.
This pattern on each sheet is actually "cut" out of a virtual paper covering something like half the earth.

if u read the site carefully, it says that you don't need the logitech paper. you just need paper similar to it.

Yes, but with a pen that would track movements (or relative position to a fixed transceiver - your notebook, for example, you'd be able to use any paper you want. Or even no paper at all if you can write blindly.
