max FSAA and anisotrophy enabled? Anybody know offhand how they compare to a Radeon 9700 Pro and Ti 4600?

Ozzie_no_good . . . are ya sure? Your rig is similar to one of mine.

Well a 9700 Pro gets 9338-9908, so I was wondering. 8600 wouldn't be too bad. I don't like the washed-out colors of the Radeon, though.

Anybody out there can confirm? I know it ain't easy getting a 2.9 gig rig.

You will have to post your results on madonions site before I will belive that! Right now the highest score is 8736 without aa enabled!
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

Yes, sure you can get 8600-8700, but I'd highly doubt this is with AA and anisotropic filtering on as was requested in the initial post.

                        Just got back from vacation.

Thanks for the feedback guys. BTW, 7,000-8,000 is about what an overclocked Ti 4600 gets with max (8x aniso) and 4xFSAA (it will get 12-13k+ with both turned off - ouch!). One problem with 3DMark2001 though, is you can't tell if aniso was on or not, when a score is posted. Also there are a lot of cheats you can do to boost the score by 300-600 points. The score of 9,700-9,900 I get on the 9700 Pro is with no cheats or tweaks, and the Radeon drivers are set to best image quality.

The two toughest games I've come across so far at 1600x1200x32 with max aniso and 4xFSAA are Max Payne and IL-2 Sturmovik. Both are playably smooth with the 9700 Pro on one of my RDRAM rigs (P4T-E board: 2.0a at 145 FSB for 2.9 gig and 3600 bandwidth), but still a bit ragged on another monster RDRAM rig (P4T533: 2.26b at 170 fsb for 2.89 gig and 3500 bandwidth). Plus the card is overclocked to 355/345 from 324/310. Video card technology is almost there.

I'd like to try a Parhelia but the OEM price is still a bit too high for me yet.

quick question, which Parhelia drivers are being used here? A friend of mine just got a 2.4ghz P4 and is only scoring 4600 or so with it.

Something is configured wrong with your friend's system.
I was scoring near that with my old P3-700.
