  • Need tips about astronomy programs

    Anyone out there know of a program that will help me find certain objects in the sky like, Mars, Jupiter (allready found Saturn), andromeda galaxy, venus and so on.
    Please forgive me if I accidently say something intelligent!

        Skyglobe is still my favorite, still using version 3.6 from 1993 with a 1999 update. DOS program, simple and fast, runs through XP perfectly.
        How can you possibly take anything seriously?
        Who cares?

              Can any of these programs plot planetary orbits from a POV above the plane of the ecliptic?

                  I've heard of a good program called redshift, but I don't know what it did (did let you fly through the solar system though, IIRC), and it was a little while ago. Wouldn't be surprised if there are newer versions though.

                    I like Distant Suns as well. Very nice & runs in Win2K/XP.

                    Also interesting - astronomy freeware;
