  • The Register and The Inquirer

I've been a long time The Register reader, mainly for BOFH. And I noticed that The Inquirer is getting VERY popular lately. Silly me just found that they are actually founded by the same guy hence the same look and style.

But what's the deal? Couldn't find any more information about it, why did the founder (hmm... Mike? or sth like that) leave The Reg? Anyone got a clue? Did I miss some W A R ?

Mike Magee wasn't liked by the Register anymore, don't know why. So he started the Inquirer some time ago.

Very entertaining and very TRUE stories by the way. Everyone involved in I.T. (corporate, not home users.) should read it.

az: For big sites like The Reg, a founder leaves should make a lot of speculations on various forums. I haven't seen any? Or was it an agreement between Mike and The Reg.

No, no - I remember things were a bit dirty, and he started the inquirer just to prove he could do another register. But my memory is a bit shady...

Mike Magee left ages ago (a year at least) - he made some comments publicly on some board and this wasn't liked by the rest of the Register crew so he left and started up the Inquirer.

Well, sort off funny, but I'd probbably kill the bastard if I met him in person...
