Just finished watching. Very disappointed. Where were the Aldebaranians? They were central to the plot! The world after April, 1998 is never mentioned. James Caan is a good actor but he was completely miscast as Haber. Lisa Bonet can't act her way out of a paper bag.

The 1979 WNET version produced for Public TV may have had a much smaller budget and much cheesier effects, but it was a far more faithful adaptation of the original novel. Bruce Davison was a far more tortured George Orr and Kevin Conway a much more duplicitous Haber.

You should be able to order the 1979 version through your local Suncoast Video.

It's a shame because I was really looking forward to this.
