Oh boy.. another "tax" that the money will all get sucked up and rerouted to beaurocricies and none go to what its intended for. My own state can't resist wasting money and asking for more.. and I think some multinational thing would be better? hahahahaha

interesting. I hate being taxed just as much as the next man (only more) but I can see the justifications behind this.
a) it won't happen, because, as Zokes said, too many people will be opposed, and
b) who decides which countries/states are wealthy enough to pay the tax?
The moral objective is good, the practicality is otherwise... unfortunately!

Chirac is a thief and a liar. He is hated by his own country people for all his curroption. Besides, should I remind all Americans here how much money the U.S government donates every year to many countries all around the world ?

It is not the EU that came up with this silly idea, it was Monsieur Chirac and as Agent31 already said, it won't happen because nobody will agree to introduce such a tax.
