  • Quieter Parhelia

Just info for quieter Parhelia enthusiasts.

KustomPCs (UK) modded my Parhelia to reduce noise. They removed the fan and heatsink that came with the card and fitted a Zalman ZM17CU vga heatsink cooled by a Zalman FB123 kit (a bracket and a 92mm fan). The result is a quieter pc with the (inevitable) high pitched whine of the provided small fan on the Parhelia gone and the Zalman fan running in "silent" mode. Can hardly hear it.

Have x2 80mm intake Papst's and no exhaust fan running in a Lian Li PC10 case. My Intel P4 2.00ghz is cooled by a Zalman Flower heatsink with another 92mm Zalman fan above it on the bracket. So two fans on one bracket.

Much quieter. The card's been running fine as usual for the last 10 days or so.

I don't use my card for gaming or for 3D work, but it seems to run the Reef Demo ok. Don't know if the card would be ok modded like this but used for gaming. It's fine for me.
