  • stereo sound

I just noticed that the sound in the video that I capture is not stereo. the avi file says its stereo but it doesnt sound stereo
I am using an sblive with my marvel g400-tv.
I'm planing on changing to a AWE64 for future captures because of a busnoise problem.

Probably, if your source is mono (like my "old" camcorder, a Sony TRV10E)then the capture will be mono.
Audio cable is a part of the source.
Poor or broken cable can causes mono sound. (and much more...)

Enrico is right: When capturing from an external program (AVI_IO or Virtualdub, ...) the sound is mono. Apparently, the capture driver does not allow recording sound in stereo. Recording from PC-VCR, everything is fine though.

I am watching the TV and it's worthless.
If I switch it on it is even worse.

        Ohhh, I see.
Mostly, I capture with PV-VCR or Ulead MSP6.
So, sorry for the wrong advice.

Sorry, incomplete info: When capturing with something else than PC-VCR, the sound recorded from the TV tuner is mono.
            Sorry,
