  • Fah3 question!

Does the Folding at home screensaver run without any user interaction at all and is it hard to set up so it crunches for our old gah accout? If it does not require any user interaction it would mean Team_DGC would get a nother GHz or 2 (or 3 ) to cruch for the team!
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

I haven't followed the folding3/genome2-progress the last couple of months, and I never tested the screensaver.

But, for the cmd-version, the setup is more or less like genome@home.
    Username: ThatEverYouWant
Team Number: 633096920 for Genome; 10045 for Folding.
Ask before fetching/sending work: if no, should run without any input.
Proxy: ... if you uses this
    Change advanced options: YES
Core Type: no-pref/fah/gah; If team-633096920, choose gah.
Core Priority: idle/low; low is higher priority, the same as seti.
CPU usage requested: 5-100; 100 for max cpu-usage.
Machine ID: 1-4; If smp, or wants to run multiple copies on same computer. Number the installs 1-4.

    And you're ready to run.

There's no caching of wu, and all machines needs net-connection.
Appart from this, the crunching of a genome-wu is more or less as it's always has been, except for no re-filtering.

    Genome-wu haven't a time-limit.
    For fah-wu, http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html
    shows time-limit and wu-score.

Well, the gui has the same setup-choises, except for machine#. It will run, just like seti@home, minimized to the taskbar. On install, it will put a shortcut in the current users startup-folder.
Left-clicking once opens the progress-window, and drawing of molecules.
Right-clicking gives the choise of configuration, pausing, and pause after current wu. Also run full-screen.
Just like seti, and the folding-cmd, it will automatically keep on crunching if you've got a usable net-connection.

        For configuration-choises, see under cmd.
