  • Microsoft Bashing !?!

I have been accused for Microsoft bashing more than once but I’m a Microsoft follower compared to this guy: http://www.radsoft.net/resources/rants/

Yes, but this guy bashes M$ in the wrong way!

That Explorer don't show extensions as a standard is not a reason to go stark raving mad

If it diden't allow you to show them, then would be....

In one of them he claims that NT4 runs perfectly with only a 32MB ram and that W2K don't and then W2k is a POS!

I used to surf on a NT4 computer with only 32 MB and that was one SLOW POS machine

He is to much LINUX luunie....

I ususaly think reading M$ bashing is fun, but its funniest when the claims are sane and correct...

True, for TRUE bashing you have to have a legitimate complaint. This guy is smoking something. I used an NT4 machine with 64megs of ram, and it was barely usable. Who would even TRY to use Win2k on 32?? Now, if he was complaining about IE not having a checkbox to stop popups...

There is legitimate reason to bash MS.

But one thing I won't stand for is indiscriminate bashing.

To suggest that there is a viable alternative to MS is just flat-out wrong at this point.

I need Windows to do my work. End of story.

I'd like to see him run the latest redhat with only 32 megs. Sure, you can run cli only with 32, but as soon as you load up X, you need way more than that.

I tend to agree with Gurm about MS. Linux is great when being used in very specific applications. As a web or DB server, it's probably pretty good (although W2K is arguably just as good). As a desktop OS, Linux is a steaming pile of dung. I guess that's why I've never had linux installed on any of my machines for more than a week. That's how long it usually takes for me to realize that I can't do anything useful with it.

MS has it's problems for sure, but they make by FAR the best desktop OS on the market right now.

                    Hm...
This was funny, in "Why Trash Windows 98?" he becomes a NT4 freak..

Gaging on how good and fast NT4 was, but that probably has to do with his inane idea that it was not coded by M$...

It'll install on that? I know windows ME requires AT LEAST a pentium 150 w/16mb of ram. (it might have been 32, I forget).

As far as linux not being able to do any work on? What are YOU smoking? I prefer to do all my work in linux. At least the apps don't crash for no godforsaken reason like they do in windows. Hell, in windows XP I can be sitting here just browsing the net and doing nothing else and the whole system 'hiccups' and won't respond to anything for about 20 seconds. Now if THAT isn't a major bitch, than I don't know what is. (Though I've been saying for at least two weeks now that I need a fresh install..... )

I've seen way more weird crashes in linux than I've ever had in W2K or XP. Assuming you have decent hardware and drivers, W2K is the most stable graphical OS I've ever seen, with XP a very close second.

Ok, but to counter that, linux will STATE that it's BETA software, whereas Microsoft will claim that there's is the final. Also to point this out, I haven't had any of the BETA applications crash on me for NORMAL reasons, probably the worse time I've had with anything in linux is dealing with the sometimes buggy games. Now that Mozilla and Galeon are more stable I only have it crash on VERY badly written web pages. (Anyone who does any HTML knows that IE doesn't use a lot of the standards and instead they use their own extensions)

As a side note, I kind of skimmed through one of the articles and it seems to me this guys gripe is legitimate. I read "Why Windows Exploder Stinks."
