Initially with the core at 240 3DMark would randomly lock up. I added a case fan to my system and now it runs happily, although at 250 I don't get very far before it locks up, some more serious cooling needed for that.

It dosn't look like it scales that good in 3DMark.. It hasn't changed as much as SharkMark did...

        - Yeah thats what i was thinking too. Oh well, its just 3DMark . -

Now seeing 3DMark is out of the way, how bout an actuall game Ant? If you have time, and are willing. I think either, Quake 3, RTCW, JKII or MOH:AA(Medal of Honour) would be nice games to test with. -

Edit: And even America's Army might be a good game. If you happen to have the UT2003 Performance Test, that would be more then welcome . -

that is all q3, an old engine. isn't there anything out there with quad texturing support?

Also, serious sam would be nice to test fillrates. just start the game, config it, pull down the console and type 'benchmark' and the numbers will roll out. not a long test, not a lot of work.

Typing in benchmark didn't work for me. I had to type in \dem_bProfile=1

Map = Valley of the Jaguar
            Desktop = 3072x768@32
            Pdesk settings - default
Game settings = 1024x768, Quad texturing, tri-linear, left all else at default

            Asus A7V333
            512m PC2700 ddr 333
            P bulk clocks

Using bi linear and Quad gave a boost of 4 fps.

              Haig,

I believe that you need to type benchmark() in Serious Sam /(SE) to get fill rate/triangle throughput

Sorry about that, i just typed bench and pressed Tab, so it auto completed.

I'll check out the fill rate later on tonite.

Ant: I haven't noticed that you opened a new thread. I was just waiting and waiting for results... Anyway thanx very much for posting these tables.
The not so big boost in 3dmark overall scores doesn't bother me too much as I don't know how much are the different test results in 3dmark weighted and summarized into the final score.
What I'd like to mention here:
-shaders' performance grows almost linearly with speed
-am I right that multitexture fillrate beats theoretical max of the r300(8x325=2600Mtexels/s)?
A doom3 result would be quite interesting to see.

So OC'ing the momeory really does make a difference after all, even after the whole "we have a 256 bit bus so it doesn't matter" argument. Intersting.

I notice in your screenshot that, in SS:EE, it says "matching * (unrecognized 3d accelerator)", and one of the strong points of the 3d-engine is that it can optimize settings for the 3d-accelerator.
so perhaps the settings isn´t the most optimized ones, does it even autodetect quadtexturing?
is there a difference in speed, normal and quality setting at all?
I think the next patch for serious sam, will give parhelia a HUUGE boost in performance.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.
