  • RT2500 vs DV500

    Hey guys.
Here at work we are thinking of building a new/upgrading the old video editing system. (i work at a school, it is used to create admissions videos, etc) What are the advantages/disadvantages of buying a RT2500 over a Pinnacle DV500? i would really like to get a RT.X100 but i think it is well out of our price range. Hopefully the price of the 2500 will drop come the release of the X100.

If someone has any reviews that compare the two cards (RT2500/DV500) as far as features and performance go, would help. Right now the system is a P3 700mhz/256MB RAM running windows 98. I am looking towards go to a P4 ~2.0ghz/512MB RAM (maybe more?) running Windows XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It may not matter, but what do i get more in the X100 over the 2500? I know that the X100 has that "Power of X" cpu scaling thing, but what else does it have?

Well, im saving up for the X100 for my personal system *grin*
It is pretty much between the DV500 and the RT2500, rather...we have access to a DV500 for free almost, and the RT2500 is about $300 cheaper than the X100. is it worth it to pay the $700 to upgrade to the RT2500 over the DV500? Im sure there are some reviews out there somewhere
      oh well
thanks anyway, hopefully i can save the $$ and then justify buying the X100 for my personal system!
