  • Real-time VCD capture with G450 eTV

Anybody has been able to capture in VCD format (MPEG-1, 352x240, 29.97fps, etc...) with this card ? I've tried the following software with mixed results :

Ulead VideoStudio 5 : recognizes the card but crashed "before" starting the capture
PowerVCR : doesn't recognize the card
nanoDVR : recognizes the card, lost 1/3 of frames while capturing and crashed Win2K at the end.

    System : Win2K Sp1, Athlon 1.4 GHz, 768 MB RAM, dedicated 40GB Maxtor 7200 rpm HDD.

Usually I capture with AVI_IO with Huffyuy then encode with TMPGenc but I'm not very satisfied with the quality... then again, I don't want to pay for an expensive codec !!

    Thanks !

You're not satisfied with TMPGEnc and expect realtime encoding to look better?

    Ain't gonna happen.
