LOS ANGELES (AP) - Gunfire erupted Thursday at the ticket counter of Israel's El Al airlines ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport, killing two people, police said.


The shooting occurred at midday after a gunman approached someone at the Tom Bradley International Terminal and opened fire, police said.

One of the two killed was the gunman, said Alex Baez, a police spokesman.

After the shooting, much of the airport was closed off.

Just read another report that said that three were dead and three wounded.

Three people were killed, including the attacker, who was shot dead by an airline security guard, authorities said.

Three other people were wounded, including an El Al security guard, authorities said.

The attacker gave himself a "birthday present" as his b-day was July 4th.

The murdered people are El-al workers, 25 years old Victoria Chen and 46 years old Yaakov Aminov.

The shooter was caught by an El-al scurity person who deposited his weapon a few minutes before and was shot dead by another El-al security officer.

The shooter was an ex El-al employee and a witness said he heard him screaming "he took my job".

7 other people were wounded in the incident, from gun fire and stabs.

So we are talking about a former employee going "postal".

Small consolation, but this is better that than what it could have been; especially with more malevolant motivations and better means to carry them out

Well, back to square one.

He was an Egyptian and had just sent his family home within the last couple of weeks. He also had multiple weapons; two pistols and a 6" knife along with a s***load of ammo.
