  • How much process dose it put on the CPU??

I am building a system and I intend to put the Parhelia 512 128meg in my new system with 3 monitors.. Now, I am currious should I be worried about my cpu with that system... I intend to have a amd 2000... or 1800.. But if the video card with having 3 monitors on it will tax it even more do you think having a dual processor system will be better?

*Sigh*... the amount of monitors on the cards speed is directly proportional to how many pixels displayed only. How many monitors has no effect on cpu load... never has, never will, they are passive devices.

    as I have stated before...

To get an idea of how SH vs TH mode works in relation to fps compare the same amount of pixels in the different modes and the frame rate is directly proprotional to the total displayed pixels.

Example: (for comparative purposes only! Not indicative of real Parhelia speed)

    SH @ 1600x1200 res = 1.92 million pixels = ~100fps

    TH @ 3072x768 res = 2.36 million pixels = ~77.1fps

    TH @ 2400x600 res = 1.44 million pixels = ~125fps

All of the cards today will take all of the cpu you can throw at them. The 1800 + should be fine. If you can afford it, however, I'd buy the fastest Athlon your budget will support.
