  • encoded video loses saturation

I've encoded video from my DVRaptor using both TMPGenc and CCE, and both seem to reduce the saturation of the colors. What/how in the process can I pump up the saturation value to maintain the best color? While editing with Premiere, or some setting in one of the encoders?

I can't say if there's a better way such as tweaking in an encoder but I just bump up the gamma setting in premiere. You can push the gamma setting as high as 1.5 although somewhere around 1.3 may be okay for your DV footage (I use Hi8 footage and the Panasonic encoder).
