  • Class not registered under W2K - Help!

I have finally gotten the video tools installed under W2K in a way that I can actually use external capture programs (such as VirtualDub) function correctly (albeit without YUY2 support). The problem I now have is that except in VirtualDub (which I suspect is using its own built-in MJPEG decoding) no other program including Media Player will properly recognize captured MJPEGs. In media player I get a class not registered error. I did a scan through the registry, and the settings appears to be correct to me, though I could be missing a lot. Also, as per the Idiot's Guide, I have tried adding vidc.dmb1 to the .inis, but it isn't doing the trick. Note: other avi formats (such as HUFYUV) work fine in media player.
I have tried installing Media Tools, reinstalling Media Player 6.4, reinstalling Video Tools, and none of them have fixed whatever problem.

    Any ideas or hints?
