  • DVD-R ATIP & ASPI question

I've been burning most of my captures to DVD lately. But contrary to CDs, it's not yet well known who makes which DVDs. For CDs there's CDRidentifier, a tool that reads the ATIP and other data from the CDR, making selection easy.

DVDs have ATIP information too, but CDRidentifier does not work on DVD. I asked around and it would seem only one sw can do this. Maybe some burning sw can too, but I found none.

The tool that does read this info is called CDrecord. It's a Linux sw, that will run on Windoze via Cygwin1.dll and an aspi layer.

Trouble is, I tried the Tekram ASPI layer, the 4.60 and the 4.7 from Adaptec, and the one from LSI...all have the same problem.

CDrecord sees my 2 SCSI cards and my Promise controller, but not my onboard (Asus TUSL2-C, i818 intel chipset) controller, where my DVD-R drive is.

Does anyone here know what's causing this? Alternatively, do you know of a Windows sw that will read out ATIP from DVD-Rs?

    Thanks!
