• Need help tweaking my dualhead setup...

OK, this is what I've got hooked up to my G550:
Samsung 170T 17" LCD connected to DVI
Samsung 955DF 19" CRT connected to analog

The result of my initial setup:
My max res is capped at 2560x960...
There is roughly a 100 pixels cut from the LCD display on the right side...
There are black bars to the right, left and top of the LCD display, and if I expand to remove, the image looks like shit...
And now I've noticed the bottom of the LCD display is cut by about 10 pixels.

I'm totally disappointed, to say the least. I should get a full 2560x2048 with no black bars and no clipping.

Can anyone advise on how to get a proper dualhead setup?

Now I'm running in 2048x768, and the LCD displays a proper full screen. Still, it looks like crap because it's not the native resolution of the monitor.

The more I think about this, I believe this is a driver issue. It seems Matrox only counted on 1024x768 being the native res for most users, and didn't do much testing for 1280x1024 native res LCD's.

...and I'm running W2K.

Ahhh, everything is right with the world...

A driver re-install has resolved the problems. Cool. I like this.

Until you reboot, that is. I still have the 2560x960 limitation when using the same res/refresh option, with a few other bugs thrown in for free. There is definitely a driver issue here, but I'll have to wait until the Matrox forums open next week.

I'm able to get the correct res for the LCD when I use the separate res/refresh option, but the taskbar doesn't span both monitors. I also lose an option for multi-display, which I can't think of atm.

I'm also disappointed that eDualHead only supports the devil's browser.
