• The Future of CypherLabs

This post is both a request for input and a bit of shameless self-promotion.

First, here's a little background. A couple months ago, I had a thought about creating a new website focusing on computer hardware. It almost seemed like a silly thought at first blush, since there are plenty of websites doing it already. But I had some issues about how they were writing their content, and honestly I thought some of my friends and I could do a better job. (See the FAQ about CypherLabs for an explanation of that statement.)

So we registered a domain and started work.

Last week I wrote a preview of the Parhelia, posted a notice on the Matrox Hardware forum, and the response was overwhelming. Hundreds of readers came to check it out. It gave us some serious encouragement to continue work on CypherLabs. So I decided to write a little informative piece this morning to let everyone know what was going on behind the scenes, since additions over the last couple of weeks have been thin.

I want to invite everyone to come and read the latest post on CypherLabs. Have a look at what we're working on, and let me know if you think we're on the right track.

Yeah, take time to keep up the standards

While it's great to have lots of new content, having excellent content is a nice change from the norm

Thanks for the feedback. Pace, I'm right with you. I'm very willing to sacrifice a little quantity for the sake of quality. Of course, content is a easier to come by when you have some trusted people helping your write (and you have final editorial control ).

Speaking of which, I just posted our first editorial. My girlfriend wrote an account of how she became the gamer girl that she is today. You can either go straight to <a href=http://www.cypherlabs.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&re q=viewarticle&artid=2&page=1">the article or check out the news article to see what else she's got brewing.
