  • can i use sb live vxd drivers under win2k (WDM sux)

is it possible to use vxd drivers for my sb live! under win2k ? if so, how.... i had put on wdm originally and the bass/treble controls only worked for pcm/wave out... nothing else... not cd nor line in nor anything else...

so i tried under win98., using vxd drivers.... and bass/treble controls worked for everything .. it worked fine ....

also the EAX effects didn't work for other input sources but i have a feeling it could be because i didn't enable it properly in the creative mixer...

i am thinking of putting 2k on but i would like to know this first

    thx

No, .vxd drivers will NOT, in fact, work under an NT-based OS.

However, newer WDM's will work just fine for the Live. Check around the net - not least of all at Microsoft's Windows Update site.

i tried the one from the creative labs website!

btw, they took live ware off the site, you can't download any programs from their site, so if you lost your cd, you're screwed, i just made an .iso from my CD for safety...

i guess if i have to, i will live with no tone controls from sources other than wav out..
