  • Creative software ought to be called a virus

Jeez just bought an Audigy so I needed to clear out the out sb crap. Under win2k no probs. I know things don't get deleted a quick uninstall remove the creative directory and quick run down the registry with reg cleaner and thats the old creative dumped.
Now 98 same procedure but boot into safe mode to clear out the hardware still listed. Reboot blue screen of death. After a bit of meddling around and god save Nortons ghost it turns out the creative crap deleted a system file.
Up and running now and it sounds a lot better than my old 5.1.

    Maybe your sig should read:
Via, ATI, or Creative which one makes buggier drivers

Nah. I prefer to think of his current sig as seeing two companies duke it out for second place. Nobody seems to come close to Creative when it comes to f*cking up a system.

I did the same thing when I swapped out my Sb Libe for an audigy.....

          And I had zero problems

          Must have done something wrong

I have never had serious troubles with any drivers,
so I guess I must be doing something wrong.

Yes but did you try removing all the creative stuff? I now know why they leave all the software in place and all the registry settings in.
