  • rt2000 dual head and dvd max FIX

The g400 3d flex is a g400 max card too, sort of. It has the ability to do dual head and dvd output, but in order to get these features you would normally have to uninstall the RT2000 video tools.

To activate these functions you go to the monitor icon on your system tray (next to your clock). You must have video tools uninstalled to do this. Click ADVANCED and youll see the options. Great. Still what a pain to have to uninstall the software in order to get at these functions.

    Until now....

The RT2000 and RT2500 (i think) fire up on the system booting up. This doesnt have to happen. It is a command included in the registry. This command can be cleared.

    Go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    SOFTWARE
    MICROSOFT
    WINDOWS
    CURRENT VERSION
    RUN

and look for the key MxvfxStartUp.exe and delete it.

Now on your desktop create a shortcut to the program

    c:\windows\MxvfxStartUp.exe

and you can start it when you wish. Now you have control of your system without having to deinstall the Video Tools all the time. Great for watching movie clips on your monitor.

Be warned registry is a delicate thing. Myself nor Matrox would want to take responsibility to you for messing up your system so be sure your proficient on this trick.

If you dont like this trick, simply deinstall video tools and reinstall it again. It goes back to your old setup of rt2000 firing up on system start.
