  • Trying to capture RealVideo Stream making me nuts (streamvcr)

I am going nutty. I have been trying to capture a realvideo stream of a french band (figures it would be the difficult french lol) at this link:

TF1+ : revoir tous les replays des emissions des chaines TF1, TMC, TFX et TF1 Séries Films. Suivre vos emissions en direct live, découvrir des vidéos exclusives de vos animateurs et candidats préférés.

But I have been trying to use StreamVCR but it konks out after capturing a sneakily placed french ad prior to the actual music....

I even tried to locate the original .RA or .RM or .RAM file but those crafty french even renamed it and the only .r-like extension I found was :

If I load just that link in my browser the video opens up find; but streamvcr fails to capture any of it.

I know this is kind of obscure but I really do not where else to look.

    any help would be great...

    Success!

Ok, what I did was open the 67202.rpm file in the temp internet directory and looked at as a text file....

it had a link in the embedded in the file (so crafty these french) and Voila!:

    rtsp://realserver.tf1.ext.imaginet.fr/annees80/rita_marcia_320.rm

Then just download it with streamvcr and now I have the +8mb music video

streamvcr is a program that no longer is available; it can capture streaming Realvideo videos.

I got it off of morpheus, but if you want email me at drummer24@hotmail.com and I can arrange to send it to you.

I tried this, it appears someone packaged the capture of the video with streamvcr, and made the files to do these tasks. I implemented these procedures. I was able to capture the stream into a file. You have to import the the proper formats into the list. You wil see these in the options. i.e.: (example) video/realvideo, etc..etc...

Real networks made most if not all of the streams available into subsription only. Hard to find anything free. I was really angry when NASCAR went into an agreement with real networks for the live qualifying to be live only by subsrciption over realone player. The live qualifying can only be seen on TV by tape delay, while they struck this deal with the devil and pure greed.

I know that it's only qualifying, blah blah blah, profit, profit, blah blah, but this mad me so damned angry. I couldn't help but bring this up when talking about real networks.

Anyone that ever bought stcok in these greedy btards knows how their stock crashed and the greed took over.

            -------------------
You might be suprised on how many media events you watch that are either considering moving to some type of money making sheme or have already done this. PPV channels are exponentially mulitplying on the cable channels for viewers to pay before they watch. The RIA screwed the pooch over streaming media not long ago when they had the the free streaming medi pulled over a hissy fit when they decided that no one should be able to see or 'listen' to any event, over the Internet' without 'royalties' being paid. This resulted in many radio shows that had steaming media pulled. Now, the free events are changed to subscription, and they try to suck you in by you downloading the new version and you agreeing to a 'free 2 weeks' after that it goes to subscription. Mind you that it only comes as a suprise when it is some type of show or event you have been watching sicne the begging of time, only for it to change overnight into a money grubbing scheme over a 'pre-event', non-event, something that is on TV, but suspisciously gets tape delyed. Just when the subscription service pops up at the same time. [sorry rant mode was off, but in response.... to a following post], not a rant to anyone here, just regarding streaming media.

I've never seen any RealVideo encoded file of a quality I'd pay a nickle for. Or any streaming media for that matter.
