WOW! That is a great find. It even has my favorite MPEG encoder (Panasonic) as "THE" method for turning AVI's into MPEGs. Thanks for this excellent referral Doc. Love it.

p.s. I don't do SVCD's but anyone who does and is having trouble should head to this site pronto. He, she, they haven't left anything out. What a resource!

They also have a Forum similar to this one over there. I've already been in there poking around asking and trying to answer some questions.
