  • G400 Marvel TV and Chaintech Board

    Hi,
I was wondering if anybody can confirm
that the G400 Marvel TV will work as an AGP
card and capture card on the Chaintech
6ATA4 motherboard which has a VIA chipset.
Because I have been informed that the G400
will not work 100% with VIA chipsets.
So does mean I have to get a BX board, because if so I won't be able to have my hard disk running at ATA66 and use my 133mhz RAM?
    Thanks

I wouldn't say the G400TV won't work on VIA chipsets, it will just work a lot better on the Intel chipped boards with a PII, PIII or Celeron. K7's should also be fine.

The problem lies in the reduced PCI bus performance of the VIA based Super7 boards. If you have a lot of PCI devices somewhere sometime the system will run into bus contentions that can cause dropped frames and/or audio synch problems.

Use a PCI audio card, NIC & modem and it's even more likely.
