  • RIP: Thor Heyerdahl

Really a blow to this huge fan of his adventures

He died at age 87 at home in Italy. He had been suffering the effects of an inoperable brain tumor.

I can remember reading Kon-Tiki as a kid and just being totally enthralled. Later on he sailed the Ra across the Atlantic and I got just as excited as before.

Sail on Thor....your Viking spirit will live on forever.

      "Lobsters?"
"Really? I didn't know they did that."

If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

Jeremy Clarkson "806 brake horsepower..and that on that limp wrist faerie liquid the Americans call petrol, if you run it on the more explosive jungle juice we have in Europe you'd be getting 850 brake horsepower..."

He certainly brought some bright spots to an otherwise dim century. He will be greatly missed.
