  • It's now nearly official...

From what I have heard, it looks like the guys behind 256-bits DDR were right after all! So, Parhelia will indeed be a very expensive card. Looks like I'll only buy one at first. Bummer. However, I wonder why it uses a 32-btis PCI bus ???

Here it is, for those who can read french.

    For the other, use babelfish.altavista.com

PAugustin had posted that earlier today... but once he realised it was just another A1's joke he pulled it.

Of course it was... it just for fun; you're not supposed to take an April's Fool joke seriously Haven't you guys seen the picture of "teh card" ? PCI bus? Passive heatsinks for such high-heat components? Four Parhelia chips on the same board with only one memory chip each (maybe two if there is some at the back...) Even if the picture of that card had been posted in a week, I wouldn'T have believed it.

It was just funny. You guys are too tense

if you look at the screenshot of 3dmark2k1 and quake3, you will notice that the console-font-size is to big compared to the "demos" beneath the console, to be 1600*1200.

btw it is easy to get 300+ fps in a q3 timedemo (even with a g400max), just disable everything.

that dual-duron is probably also an aprilfool.

imagine if matrox actually announced the card today, nobody would believe it.

I liked the new dual processor board that supports an Intel and AMD chip.

I kinda knew thatl I was joking about why such a high-power board liek Parhelia would use such a restricting bus as a 32-bits PCI bus...

Anyway, if matrox could announce a new chip and some boards (and maybe announce availability of those boards ) at least we could drool on something concrete
