  • TNT 16mb agp or Voodoo II 12mb?

I've got a buddy who's setting up a system for his kids, P II 333 w/128mb and has the above cards available to throw in along with an 8mb agp card to go with the v2, which would be the better? any comparison bench links would be helpful
    TIA, jim

    From personal experience . . .

The VoodooII would be a waste unless someone is giving them some old Glide games. Most games, edutainment software, and educational software are requiring DX8 which makes it useless for anything new.

The TNT works with the newer Detonator drivers so you can be sure of getting good though not perfect compatability with older and newer software. As for speed and this is from personal experience not graphs I would go with the TNT 16MB. It is more than adequate even for newer software like Unreal Tournament though at lower resolutions. It is a good match for the PII-333.

If they do want to be able to play some old Glide games, both can be installed and they can use the 3dcc utility to set DirectX to use the TNT card.

      keep 'em all ...

would give a nice Glide option so that the kids could also play some older games like the NFS series and what ever game compilations there are.

Leave them in. As far as benches go I think it's a tie, the TNT is faster in some games, while the V2 is faster in others.
