  • g400 --> agp4x & 1.5v ?

    hi all,

    i'm looking @ buying a gigabyte 8irxP mainboard soon,
    and it is one of those ones that requires a 1.5V agp card.

    although i cannot find any info saying that the MGA-G400 is
    NOT a 1.5V card, i also cannot find anything saying it is.

    can someone confirm this for me, pls? because i'm not looking
    forward to blowing up my mainboard 'cause my dear matrox card
    is not compatible.

    tia,
    cmetom

    G400 is compatible with 1.5v.
    The card will detect the mode the mobo is using, and automatically switch to the proper voltage.

      The 8IRXP board does not detect #TYPEDET, so any G400 card should be fine in the board. There's a warning sticker and leaflet in the box, but no actual board-level detection like Asus's P4B266 has.
