  • SVCD problem

    Hi guys,

I just tried to making a SVCD and I using
the LSX encoder to generate the Mpeg2 file.
The video and audio both play fine.
But when I author those file using I-Author.
The generated SVCD play fine while some medium motion screen become very fast motion screen. I do play those file on media player Before encoding to SVCD. It is absolutely normal with the file generated by LSX.
Does anyone has this problem also ?
    Or any suggestion.
    Thanks a lot.

I had the same problem when my bit rate was too high. I had to keep my video bit rate around 2000-2100 mbit/s (avg. variable bit rate) to play normally on my APEX. If you use a constant bit rate (CBR), then you may be able to go slightly higher, maybe 2300-2400 mbit/s.

I think the playback problem has to do with the maximum speed of the cd/dvd-rom and consequent data rate (your hard drive plays the file normally because it can handle the higher data rate).

Some LSX profiles for SVCD(I haven't tried them):

      Cyro~,

      Thanks for your advice.
I tried the svcd profile and the results still the same. Then I installed the WinDVD and it can play SVCD. The output is fine. That means the generated Svcd is normal. so it would be the problem you said the transfer rate is not fast enough in the standalone DVD
      player.
