Actually things have advanced a bit from just using AVISynth with Premiere.

        The guys at

have come up with their Video Server plugin for Premiere.

Instead of relying on a target program to load an *.avs script (very few do) Video Server generates a pseudo *.avi file; IPServer.avi. This "avi" can be loaded into about anything from TMPGEnc to Uleads DVD MovieFactory or Nero's MPEG-2 plugin (!!).

In short: about anything that'll load an *.avi can now be frameserved using Video Server.

Downside: not as much post-processing as with AVISynth, but there are a few plugins for the plugin (does that sound weird? Hmmm...).

Its shareware, but reasonable. Personal use is $10, professional is $35.

What's even better: since Ulead finally came out with the public SDK videotools.net is now working on this same program for MediaStudio Pro.

        Gotta love it

VFAPI is a group of input filters so yes, you should install it.
