  • Judges to clampdown on Phone theft

The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Woolf, said offenders should expect a jail sentence of up to five years or even more as part of a crackdown on the escalating problem.
The tough sentences would apply "irrespective of the age of the offender and irrespective of whether the offender has previous convictions", he said.

Just wait till the european court of justice gets hold of the last sentance.

At last someone in the judicial system who seems to be in touch with the the needs of the average Joe.

Something has to be done. Over 500,000 people were robbed in the UK last year of their phones. Thats over 500,000 minor assaults.
