  • Radeon 8500 and boot problem

    Hi!

My computer won't boot when my tv is connected to my new radeon 8500...
I read on ati's web page might have to do with bios shadowing 32k something.
I changed settings in the bios but the problem still persists. So my sollution for now is to unplug the tv each time I boot my computer... not too funny.
Maybe a new motherboard and cpu will do the trick..

The card should not act like that. Normally, if a TV/VCR is connected at boot-time, it will automatically enable the TVOut (which is very convenient for TV-only uses). At which point does the boot stop? Do you see the DOS screen on the TV?

        Hi!

The boot stops almost at once. The monitor is turned on but shows nothing and I hear the harddisks spin up..
