You can always try to cool the card better, and keep at Max speeds.

Either write Matrox tech support or get someone else to send you a copy of the correct PINS for your board type.

          Site with pin files!!

          Check this site out:
          MatroX Files

It has archives with pins files for most Matrox cards....

          Edit:

Seems like my memory is a bit old...

The site has pins files but ony up to MarwelG200

This is how to restore the chips clock to the original speed:

Boot to a real-mode DOS prompt, preferably from a clean sys floppy where you also have dos4gw.exe and progbios.exe

            Run:

            progbios -d >pins.txt

            edit the values at row

            65 1 to 126
            66 1 to 63
            75 1 to 126
            76 1 to 63

            save the changes and then
            run:

            progbios -i auto -s pins.txt

This gives you the default clockspeed.

If you don´t have dos4gw.exe and progbios.exe you can download them from matrox.

A fan should be all you need.
Running at that speed, stock cooling is not enough.
Attach an old 486 or pentium fan to the cards heatsink.
The RAM doesn't need any aditional cooling.

you could always just use mgatweak to lower the speed slightly

It may be the RAM that can't run that fast. Just keep that in mind.

                      thanks all
i changed pin to the correct
and now my g400 dh card working the right clock and memory
                      speed
but the driver still g400 max dh
i don't know should i change some number in the pin
and make the driver detect the right card's ID?
                      thanks

G400 and G400MAX use the same exact drivers.
It doesn't matter if it's detected as a MAX or not, so I wouldn't worry about it...

the NO61,71,81 in the pin file is about the sgram cycle
and g400 is difference for g400max
                          really?
                          if it's truth
