  • Nortons 2002 speed disk now hangs under win2k

Grr I've had this in the past under win98 when a file got slightly corrupted (Tiger woods saved golf games delete them and it worked again). Unfortunatly I can't remember the last thing I was doing so I haven't a clue which file could be boggin things up.
The inbuilt defragger works and disk doctor finds sod all but then it never did under 98 either.
Event viewer doesn't report any errors unless you leave it for twenty minutes and then you get scsi timeout errors. If you defrag any other drive speed disk works happily.
    Anyone else had this?
Nortons site doesn't mention anything relevant.

    Sorry mate.

I have been using it for a while now in 2K SP3beta without any problems
The Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England

I'll guess I'll have to use the inbuilt defragger for now.

Just use O&O Defrag. Much faster & better results for me.

Does the o&o do directory consolidation and pagefile defragmentation? Diskeeper 7 does it and it works under XP too. It is kind of slow though
