    VisionTek GeForce2-MX400 AGP: any good?

    I like my G400-DH, and I plan on keeping it for a second rig, but I want to try something different.

    Has anyone tried using a VisionTek GeForce2-MX400 AGP card? I'm looking for something that offers pretty good DVD playback and 3D performance all while keeping under $100...I know that's quite a low ceiling, but it is what it is.

    Most of the MX series are OK. Drivers can be a problem for W2k. They're not the greatest of performers. You may well be better off with a 32mb radeon which are about the same price now and have really good dvd playback and probably TV out too. Although ATi drivers are known to be a bit on the crappy side of things too.

      It's a fine card, for a GF2MX400... which is to say it's mediocre at best.
