  • A "quiet" confirmation on a new chip from Matrox?

I'm just reading the G800max? thread on the official Matrox forum, and Haig has just relied this:

Can't get into that right now but the die shrink size and and all other info will be up in the near future.

He writes in the near future , that must mean that perhaps Matrox also wants to release something very soon, perhaps "ruin" nVidia's presantation for GeForce4??

Hers a link to the post @Matrox

          Interesting ! Great find, [GDI]Raptor !

Haig mentions (a few posts before the cited post) :
          -
A while back, 3dfx bought out giga pixel where giga pixel had the tile rendering technology. Then when nvidia bought out 3dfx, they also inherited giga pixel's technology.
          -

          Is this a small hint...?

I wouldn't necessarily think so, because Haig is just answering CaineThanatos' previous post about where nVidia acquired it's tile rendering tech.

The only thing we need to know now is, when it will be announced January, February, March.... Roumrs have said Q1 2002....

Hopefult this chip will be able to compete with nVidia's NV25 & ATI's R300

Keep up the good work Matrox!!

Yeah, that is the only thing we *need* to know...

But this is the Crystal Ball forum, so we always want to know more, we never know enough ! Especially when it concerns new (or should I say "potentially new" Matrox hardware) !

                    Perhaps he means "SOON"
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

[GDI]Raptor - Excellent! What a great finding! Thanks for that! I have a beer on you and Haig and Matrox tonight!

Instead of going out of the consumer gfx market, Matrox presents a new product in the high-end range to shut up all the whiners!

                      Yes yes yes!
