  • Live! 5.1 for low low price

    i can get a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 X-Gamer for $51 CDN = ~$30 US ....

it seems to good to be true, i mean u can barely get that price on ebay for a used 5.1 ...

im thinking maybe it's not retail, could be oem or something, is there any difference between the two?

PS, i can also get a audigy for $104 CDN but i really don't think i need/want an audigy... i saw a screenshot of the audigy, it doesnt seem to have a midi/game connection, does that mean i would need a seperate sound card/ gameport card ?

Go for the audigy. Besides the free firewire port, you won´t believe the diference in cpu utilization in 3D sound, at least on win2k/winXP.

The audigy does have a game/midi port, it comes on a daughter card and it´s conenected by a ribbon cable. Yes, if you need it, it´ll eat you up a pci slot.

The Audigy sounds a lot better too. It was like upgrading speakers for me.
