No one can tell me if the upgrade is worth it!

      In a word, no...

There are many others that are far superior. I've used Power DVD 3.0 (Multichannel version), with no issues as well as version 4.0 (Works perfectly with the G400).

I'm currently using WinDVD-DTS on both my Workstation and Gaming machines and it also works flawlessly.

Both of these players support Dolby Digital and DTS decoding.

PowerDVD doesn't work with XP yet if that's the OS you're running

DTS works one of two ways: S/PDIF output or 6 Channel Decoded...I've been using 6 channel analog decoding with no problems.

I haven't felt the need for S/PDIF decoding when I've already got 6 channel out put from my Sound cards: I've tested it with both the Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and the Philips Acoustic Edge both work great.

PowerDVD 3 runs perfectly under XP.
