  • MGA Tweaker

I tried installing the file I got from the MGA Tweaker site, but all I got was a screen saver. Did I miss something ? BTW, the srcreen saver doesn't work on my W2K system.

there should come more in the package than just the screensaver.
It's a program with gui to adjust the PLL speed of matrox cards and change some other settings as well (mostly speed/timing related)

Figured It Out - Optimum Setting for G400 MAX

Winzip didn't unpackage the zipped file correctly, so I did it manually. MGA Tweak works now, but there are many settings ! Any recommendations on optimum settings for a G400 MAX/AGP2X card ?

          Thanks, but ....

how do I get the settings to "stick" ? After making the changes, applying & saving them, they revert back to the "defaults" after I reboot. BTW, the clock speed goes from 150.75MHz to 162.25MHz with the recommended settings. Is this OK with the factory fan ?

          Thanks for your patience.....JL

when you reboot the G400 will read out the default clock speed from the BIOS pins info... MGA Tweak is just a software hack of changing the speed in windows... you need to set it to monitoring even and keep it active when running certain applications, as changing to 3d-accelerated mode can even force the card to change clockspeed back to what's defined in the pins.
