  • Marvel G200 Capturing / Premiere Issues

    Hi,

    I used to own an Iomega Buz, which I used to capture video and edit in
    premiere.

    This worked only ok... Often times the buz would hang my system, drop
    frames needlessly, etc.

    So, I purchased a Marvel G200.

    The video looks great (the mjpeg compressed) that I capture..
    However, it's nearly impossible to use the footage that I capture in
    Premiere because it takes seconds to decompress each frame as I scan
    through the video in premiere.

    I was capturing compressed (mpeg) footage with the buz too, but never
    had any problems like this. Scanning through footage in premiere was
    very smooth.

    I know I could adjust the quality of the captured mpeg a little, but
    then it would look even worse than what my Buz could capture.

    Anyone have any suggestions or solutions? Thank you.

    P.S. I know I could just capture full frame, but that's not what I want to do at this point.

    David

    Add these lines to your "Prem50.ini" file, in the Premiere folder:

    [Override]
    NoDirectShow=1

    [codec]
    keepopen=dmb1

    This should solve your timeline playback/scrubbing problems. You should have full motion video in your monitor window and on your TV screen, if you have the Marvel Video Out plugged into your TV.

    You might try capturing with the PC-VCR or another capture program called AVI_IO (which I can't live without).
