  • Converting to Microsoft DV

I realize this has been asked before but I cannot find any threads on it using the search.

I have two AVI files that were created using the Marval G400-TV. I would like to convert them to Microsoft DV.

Is there any way to do this without the Matrox hardware on the machine?

    Thanks

First you would need an MJPeg codec on the system capable of reading the Matrox MJPeg files. PICVideo does this nicely and runs about $18 USD.

Once there you could load it into an editor and transcode the files to DV type 1 or type 2, depending on your needs. Type 1 is DirectShow and opendml compliant. Type 2 is Video for Windows and typically not opendml compliant.
