  • DV editing using Premiere 5.1c

    Hi,
I have bought a TI chipset 1394 card which
    shipped with Videowave III se.
I can do the capture job. Since the Videowave is so worse in editing and rendering. So I try using Premiere and it cannot import the captured file from videowave.

Does anyone know how to do the editing job
using Premiere for my captured DV file?

    Thanks

Adobe Premiere hasn't been updated yet to
be able to work with generic DV from the OHCI compliant cards using the TI chipset.

The TI chipset boards produce what Microsoft has called "Type 1" DV.

Adobe Premiere can only handle "Type 2" DV from older DV boards.

The only professional level editor that can handle the new Type1 DV is Ulead MediaStudio Pro.

You can upgrade from VideoStudio to MediaStudio Pro for $199.

Assuming you have Video Studio 3 then there *is* a way to export captured files which can then be imported into Premiere.

See http://www.geocities.com/SiliconVall...pitre3_ang.htm for details. I've tried it and it works.
